The Ask:
For this project, my team of three was challenged with the task of branding the 2021 OSU BFA Graphic Design Capstone show. I served as Art Director of the exhibition and my team.
The Deliverables:
Project includes poster series, designer statements, as well as a postcard and various patterning in an effort of advertising awareness.
The idea of “Loading...” was to represent the class of design students. As we are currently in college we are constantly “Loading” for what comes next.
The scanned glitched typography treatment serves throughout the branding elements as well as provides unique patterns throughout the exhibition as well.
The Process:
By scanning images (a bunch of times) I was able to get a bunch of different iterations to play with design variations that tie to a cohesive system. This began with typing and printing physical words and playing with different variations on how I scanned the images.
I think I explored about 150+ iterations of scans before moving into Illustrator and Photoshop, I really wanted to have striking images before I started getting digital.

We were students that were forced to transition to a mostly virtual college experience with COVID, so it was important to reflect us navigating throughout this digital space and coming through this entire experience as better versions of ourselves.
